Wedding and Engagement
Areia was a Cretan nymph of Greek mythology, daughter of Cleochus, born of earth yet bound to the air. Loved by Apollo, she became the mother of Miletus, whom she hid to protect from harm. Though little is written of Areia, she endures as a symbol of beauty, protection, and wild freedom. Her name, from the Latin aerius and Greek aer (ἀήρ), evokes air, lightness, and the unseen forces that lift the soul. For this reason, birds—emblems of grace, freedom, and the divine—shape this collection. Each piece acts as a talisman, reminding the wearer to spread their wings and sing their own unique song.....and above all....to be free!!
